UTAH FRANCHISE LAWS
Franchise Registration in Utah. There is no state franchise registration required in Utah.
Business Opportunity Exemption Registration in Utah. The Utah Business Opportunity Disclosure Act is broad enough to cover most franchises. Utah Code Section 13-15-2(1)(a).
However, it includes an exemption for “the sale of a package franchise or a product franchise defined by and in compliance with [the FTC Franchise Rule].” Utah Code Section 13-15-2(1)(b)(iii).
To claim the exemption, the franchisor must file an annual exemption notice in Utah before offering for sale or selling a franchise in Utah and pay the annual filing fee of $100. Utah Code Section 13-15-4.5.

Franchise Disclosure in Utah. Utah has no state franchise disclosure laws. So, there are no special state disclosures required in an FDD used in Utah.
Franchise Relationship Law in Utah. Utah has no state franchise relationship laws for business format franchises.
